Acting Out

Okay, you know how I said our "first son", Buddy was adjusting well to the new puppy? Well, I may have to eat my words. Reuben and I came home from uniform check-out last Friday to a wonderful present waiting for us in the living room. No not THAT kind of present! Buddy had totally ripped apart my brand-new JC Penney catalog. I guess he's been feeling left out, and we have been keeping him indoors because of the heat. He must have some pent-up energy (or frustration). Yesterday, I came home from the first day of inservice to find yet another catalog shredded to pieces with Bud looking at me so innocently, "Who Me?!" And the final straw was coming home today to find a headband, chapstick, and earplugs chewed up in the living room, which he got from my nightstand. Oh, did I mention he also tore up his bed?! Our dog has issues!!! He has always been good with Bandit. He plays a little rough with him, but otherwise they both get along. I don't know what to do!!!

On the other hand, Bandit is doing great. I have ended up letting him sleep on my pillow next to me because I couldn't stand to hear him cry in his crate. I am SUCH a pushover. He is such a happy little guy. I have taken about 60 pictures so far. I guess I go a little overboard, but he's so CUTE. Reuben has even taken to him. I have even taken him to Walmart with me. (If Paris Hilton can do it, so can I!)

We're new parents!!!!

Okay, no one get too excited; it's not what you think. I finally, after years of whining and begging, got my dachshund puppy. He is a miniature piebald that I named Bandit. (I wanted his name to go with Buddy's, so my first pick of "Peanut" was out!!) I picked him up on Saturday, and I have had a ball since. He is so sweet and loving, just like my other dachshunds Ginger and Gretchen my family had while I was growing up. Buddy, our "first child" has even adjusted quite well. He has been very curious about the new pup, but he hasn't growled or nipped at him at all. Although, the only problem is, whatever Bandit has, Buddy wants! I guess it's just like having children, only they are furry!
